If I am staying at a Disney resort, but have a bunch of Disney gift cards I want to use to pay for meals and incidentals, can I use the Disney gift-cards to "Prepay" on my resort card that I can use charge expenses to my room and use that card in

    Hi, Kimberly!

Disney Gift Cards are a great way to save for your magical vacation!

During my last stay at Port Orleans French Quarter, I had several gift cards.  What I was told to do by the Cast Member at check-in was to put a credit card on file to allow charging to my room.  Then, the day before check-out, I went to the front desk to pay for my room charges with the gift cards.

The reason for this was that my room had a "zero balance" upon check-in so there was no balance to pay off with the gift cards (cannot "pre-pay").  It was no big deal to pop by to use up my gift cards and no charge was made on my credit card on file.

Upon check-in, double check with your Cast Member on the procedure, but somehow they will make sure you use your gift cards to pay off your room balance.  Have a magical stay in Walt Disney World!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
