When staying at a Disney Resort is it better to use their buses or use our minivan (since we'll have it anyway). I've read that sometimes the buses can be a hassel for our double stroller. Is it worth it for us to walk to the parking lot for our own car?

We always prefer to rent a minivan because with four children in tow, we just find it to be the most convenient option.  Since you'll have your own vehicle on site with you, I would recommend using it.  It's nice to be able to leave some things in the car if you want to, instead of toting it around the park or renting a locker.  I've also found that it's easier to transport the strollers, diaper bags, etc. that kids require.  Of course, I also admit to being somewhat impatient (or very impatient if you ask my husband) and I really don't like waiting on busses.  If you don't mind that sort of thing then you might find that the Disney transportation will work well for your family.

If you do decide to use your own vehicle, I would recommend that on the day(s) you visit the Magic Kingdom that you use the bus.  Disney transportation to the Magic Kingdom will deliver you to the gate whereas if you drive your own vehicle you will be required to park at the Ticket and Transportation center and either ferry over or ride the monorail to the park entrance.  In this case, Disney transportation is quicker and more convenient than driving yourself.  Hope that helps!
