I will be staying on Disney property (without a vehicle) and need to do a fair amount of grocery shopping. What is the closest grocery store that provides the best selection at decent prices?

Kristin, you will have several options for your shopping needs while at Walt Disney World!

Each resort will have a small  area of the store where you can purchase some basic needs from bread to chips and dips to diapers and baby needs.  If you are in need of a larger selection there is a Goody's in the Crossroads section across from Downtown Disney.  You can use a cab to reach this 24 hour store.

My best suggestion is for you to use an on line grocery service. I have used many times one called Garden Grocer and have been extremely pleased with the selection and the service.  You can find them on line at gardengrocer.com.  You simply register, make your selection from hundreds of food and personal items and then choose a date for delivery to your resort.  Don't wait too long to do this as they will only deliver a certain amount of reservations per day.  Your groceries are charged to a credit card on line making this so simple and painless for the guests. When staying at the cabins our food has been delivered and ready for us in the cabin when we check in!

Please remember that resort rooms will only have small refrigerators and the villa units will have the full size ones as well as the Fort Wilderness cabins.  If staying in a resort room you will not want to order an abundance of perishable goods as there won't be room for proper storage.
