we will be staying in Disney from 5/1-5/6. It is myself, husband and girls ages 9 & 6. I want a hotel which is easy to get around, yet fun for the kids. We are considering POFQ or Carribean Beach. Also, what are crowds like in the park at this time?

Hi, Lisa! I'm a big fan of inter-resort mobility too. Caribbean Beach is definitely prohibitive to hoofing it. You need to take the internal bus to get from one section of the resort to another. Compare that to Port Orleans French Quarter (POFQ,) where everything is walkable because most of the property is set up like a crescent around the main building.

POFQ has one pick up and drop off point for busses to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Compare that with Caribbean Beach, which picks up and drops guests off at each island/section. At POFQ, you get a boat to Downtown Disney.

The main pool at Caribbean Beach is slightly cooler. But then again, what pirate-themed playland isn't?! On the other hand, the dragon at POFQ is pretty rockin.'

Crowds will be moderate when you're in town. You'll have some cheerleaders and dancers in town on the front end and the beginnings of Grad Night on the back end.
