Hello! We are staying at a Disney Hotel. Do we need a magic band to enter Magic Kingdom at 7:30am, or can we enter with our mobile passes? Thank you!

    Hiya, Lisa!

I'm so glad you've found your way to planDisney with a question about your upcoming visit.  OMG!  You're only two days away from arriving at Walt Disney World Resort –– I bet your excitement is in overdrive right about now!  Since I'm sure you're checking items off your last-minute to-do list before your adventure begins, be sure to open up the My Disney Experience mobile app, tap on "Future Plans", and double-check that you've made a Disney Park Pass reservation for each day you plan to visit one of the four Walt Disney World theme parks.  Remember, you'll need a theme park reservation, along with valid admission, in order to enter the park each day.  Once you've confirmed that those are all set, you'll be ready to hit the ground running when you arrive at The Most Magical Place on Earth!

During my last few visits, I've decided to forego the MagicBand in favor of using a Disney MagicMobile pass on my phone or smartwatch and I love how easy and convenient it is. As a mom of four, there are lots of things to pack and remember as we head to the parks, so while it might seem like a small thing, not having an extra "thing" to grab makes life just a little easier.  I'm excited to hear that you're planning to give this service a try during your upcoming visit and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.  And here's the best part –– when it comes to visiting the parks, a Disney MagicMobile pass has all the same features of a MagicBand (although it won't have some of the super-cool interactive features of the new MagicBand+).  This means that you'll be able to enter the park, scan in for Early Theme Park Entry or Extended Evening Theme Park Hours, and even access Disney Genie+ Lighting Lanes with a quick tap of your device.

And speaking of entering the park, as a fellow early bird (especially during a Walt Disney World visit!), I love the Early Theme Park Entry benefit for Guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel.  My family loves to head to the park and knock out a few of the busiest attractions with typically-shorter wait times, freeing up time to enjoy the rest of our day in the park.  And while 30 minutes might not seem like a lot of time on the surface, in my experience, you can cover a lot of ground –– during our last visit to Disney's Hollywood Studios, we were able to ride both Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway and Rock 'n' Rollercoaster Starring Aerosmith and we were boarding the elevator for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror as the park officially opened.  It was awesome!  To make the most of your time, though, I recommend getting to the park to enter a few minutes before these early hours begin.  That way, you'll be inside Magic Kingdom Park and ready to head to your first attraction as soon as the clock strikes 7:30 AM.

Thanks for visiting planDisney, Lisa, and I hope your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort is filled with pixie dust from beginning to end!
