Hi there, staying at Disney Art of Animation. Notice there is a "Skyliner" to travel. Can you tell me is there other transports, and if the Skyliner goes over water? I have a "Special Needs" son and I am not sure how he would do.

    Hello, Tammi,

Thank you for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm so happy to hear about your upcoming trip.  I love how Disney's Art of Animation Resort captures the magic of iconic Disney movies and think it makes such a fun place for guests to stay.  The Disney Skyliner is a new mode of transportation that takes guests from the resort to both Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot.  It does go over water, buildings, streets, and green spaces.  To help you better visualize what it is like, there are many videos available on YouTube of other guests' experiences on it. I think watching a few of those would give you a better sense of what to expect and how your son may feel riding it. If you do decide to ride in it, please know that you may share the ride with other guests. However, it is okay to ask to have a gondola with just your family/friends in it if that would make your son more comfortable.

If you'd prefer not to ride in the Skyliner, there is bus transportation available. However, it only runs every hour to bring guests to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios from Disney's Art of Animation Resort.  The other buses run approximately every 20 minutes to go to the Magic Kingdom, Disney's Animal Kingdom, the water parks, and Disney Springs.  The great thing is that you can use the My Disney Experience Mobile app to track the estimated wait times for bus transportation.  Another option is to utilize a taxi or ride sharing service such as Lyft or Uber.  If you'd like something fun and filled with Disney-cheer, I highly recommend the Disney Minnie Van Service, which is operated through Lyft. For me, there is something extraordinary about being in a red and white polka dot mini-van!

Wishing you a magical trip!  Please let us know if you have any further questions. -Kara
