We are staying in a deluxe room in an outer building at the Grand Floridian. Do these rooms have cathedral ceilings and a balcony on the top floors to similar to the standard dormer rooms on the top floor? Are the ceilings vaulted in the sitting area too?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kennedy! Staying at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels is a great part of the vacation experience. From incredibly themed Resorts like Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to practically perfect accommodations at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, there’s so much to see and do!

You can google “Grand Floridian Dormer Rooms” to see that the rooms do indeed have vaulted ceilings and a dormer window. Some of them have balconies, depending on where the rooms is located This is true for the top floor of the main building as well as the outer buildings, such as my favorite building, Boca Chica. It sits right on the water and the Electrical Water Pageant passes right by. Perfectly magical to cap off any night! The “downstairs” and middle floors of the buildings will have level ceilings akin to your home; only top floors near the roofline will be levered. Of course, when you fill out your Online Resort Check-In Form, you can request a Deluxe room with a dormer window. While I’m not sure that any are available, Cast Members will do everything they can to accommodate your request.

If I can help you find more fun at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, like the Parasol Promenade, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
