Hi, We are staying 10/2018. Deciding between Port Orleans RS or FQ. We wld rather not have a long walk between bus & room & wld like to have good choice for food. Hoping not to pay extra for pref rm. Suggestions? Thank you!!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Ami!

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter are my two favorite moderate Walt Disney World Resort hotels. I'm sure you would love either one of them. Riverside has a much bigger footprint than French Quarter, but the distance between your room and the bus stop will be similar at either resort because Riverside has four bus stops while French Quarter only has one. Honestly, you won't be walking far between the bus stop and your room in either case. Just be sure to let the reservation agent you speak to know that you'd love a standard room near a bus stop.

As for food choices, you'll have more options at Riverside, but personally, I love the choices at French Quarter. If you love beignets, then your choice is easy. Fresh beignets are baked at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory every morning at French Quarter. Riverside, however, has the added advantage of a table service restaurant called Boatwright's while French Quarter only has a quick service option. Some guests choose Riverside over French Quarter simply because of the amazing live piano music performed there regularly by Yehaa Bob at River Roost.

You can't make a bad choice here, Ami. Good luck with your decision!

Sending best wishes and pixie dust,
    Jill
