We are staying 7 days but have 5 day ticket package, we are seeing the shuttle launch Sunday. I have the dining plan and it says one for each night...is that 5 days because that is the ticket package or is it 7 based on hotel nights?

    Hi Cynthia,

The Disney Dining Plan is based on the number of nights of your hotel stay, so in your case it would be 7.

As of today, Sunday, January 17th, Space Shuttle Endeavour is still scheduled to launch on STS-130 on Sunday, February 7th at 4:39 am.  However, you will want to check the latest Space Shuttle status before then.  On the web you can do that by going to the main NASA website (www.nasa.gov) and then clicking on "Missions" followed by "Launch Schedule".

If you are driving over to NASA's Kennedy Space Center for the launch, leave extra time for the trip.  Traffic is bad on launch days, especially the traffic coming back from the Space Center towards Orlando because everybody leaves KSC at roughly the same time.  I saw a night launch in November of 2008 and it took 4 hours for the drive from KSC to Walt Disney World; however, I was at the Apollo / Saturn V viewing stands and thus in the heart of KSC.  If you're outside KSC, such as in Titusville or Coca Beach, the trip shouldn't be as bad.

    Have a magical vacation!
