Hello, Penny! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
What a wonderful way to celebrate your husband's birthday! I am thrilled to assist you with your inquiry as I just returned from my journey through
Spanish Colonial Mexico at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, yesterday!
The resort breaks into 3 distinctly unique accommodation themes: Casitas (buildings 1-5), Rancho (buildings 6A-7B) and Cabanas (buildings 8A-9B), which all surround the central Lagos Dorado (big lake in the middle). In terms of proximity, Ranchos is the closest section of the resort to the
Lost City of Cibola Feature Pool, spitting Jaguar Slide, Siestas Cantina Iguana Arcade and Explorer's playground which collectively are referred to as The Dig Site complex.
However, the closest building to the Dig Site complex is the building 8A of the Cabanas section (especially the Southern wing of the building). Also, building 9B of the Cabanas section is a short and scenic bridge crossing from the pool and is also close to El Centro, the main building of Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, that has multiple dining and shopping options, such as
Nuevo Latino Cuisines at Maya Grill with nightly live entertainment or
Pepper Market for more traditional fare.
For an added treat, you may want to
consider strolling this Southwestern-themed haven by Surrey bike, a 6-person treat for the entire family.
Have a Magical Celebration!
