Hi Neil, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is one of my family’s favorite resorts – my daughter calls it our “Disney home.” We have stayed there twice since the major construction began, and have been so impressed with the Cast Members’ management of the construction; while the construction is visible, we experienced very little disruption in our experience there. Right, now the major projects are the
Gran Destino Tower, which is being built beside the main El Centro building on Lago Dorado, and a new restaurant located in the middle of Lago Dorado, accessible by new bridges that are currently being built. A Cast Member just confirmed to me that The Lost City of Cibola pool and Dig Site area have reopened, so you’ll be able to enjoy them on your upcoming visit!
According to the same Cast Member, Standard View rooms can be booked in the following buildings: Casitas 4 and 5, Ranchos 6 and 7, and Cabanas 8A, 8B, and 9A. I’ve stayed in all three of these areas and loved the theming in each one.
The newly refurbished rooms in Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and Spa are fantastic, and I do think you’ll find you have room for a twin air mattress in the room. It will make navigating the room somewhat tricky, so please be careful, and be sure to store the mattress upright or under a bed when not in use, and do not block the door for your safety.
Happy early New Year, Neil! Please come back and see us should you have any further questions as you count down to your fabulous holiday.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
