Hi Shannon! Welcome back to planDisney.
You are asking about two of my very favorite places at the Walt Disney World Resort. My daughter calls
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort our Disney “home,” because we’ve stayed there several times and keep coming back for the super fun pool and sunsets over Lago Dorado.
Olivia’s Café at Disney’s Old Key West Resort just might be my family’s favorite restaurant at Disney World, and we often choose to celebrate special occasions on our vacations with dinner there.
So, let’s get you set for travelling between my happy places. What I would do (and have done) is take a taxi or rideshare, Shannon. The resorts are actually pretty close to one another, and it doesn’t cost much. I realize this could be more of a challenge if you have strollers, wheelchairs, or other considerations, but I would factor a rideshare into my budget for the brunch transit. By car, it’s probably a 10-15 minute drive between the two resorts. You will need to have your Olivia’s Café reservation number handy to show the Cast Member at the gate (it’s easy to pull up in the My Disney Experience app if asked); at this time, Guests are being asked to show dining reservations to access resorts where they are not staying.
If you prefer to use complimentary Disney Transportation, it’s going to be a little tricky, as there is not resort-to-resort bus transportation at the Walt Disney World Resort. Your best bet would be to take
Walt Disney World Bus Service from Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort to
Disney Springs, and then a bus from Disney Springs to Disney’s Old Key West Resort. The good news is that when you get off the bus, you’ll be just steps away from Olivia’s, but you’ll probably need about an hour and a half, because you may wait a while for a bus at Disney Springs, particularly as buses are running at reduced capacity right now. I would actually recommend checking with a Cast Member at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort to see if they have other thoughts on traveling between these two resorts, as you could also take a bus to Disney’s Hollywood Studios (or any theme park, but this and Epcot are closer options to the two resorts) and then transfer. The Cast Members at your resort will also have the latest information about any changes in transportation schedules and other considerations.
I hope you enjoy your
brunch at Olivia’s Café! I must recommend the Banana Bread French Toast (hello, Bahamian banana rum syrup and coconut whip cream), and I highly recommend adding a cocktail, as this restaurant has fantastic bartenders. With its pastel vibes and laid back, Key West theming, Disney's Old Key West Resort is vacation paradise, and I hope you can spend some time exploring and soaking it all in. Have the best time!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
