Staying at Coronado Springs in November. A member of our party just had knee replacement surgery. What is the best way to request a room close to the main building? I know nothing can be guaranteed but any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thx!

    Hi Krista!

The very best way to ensure an optimal room assignment at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort would be to upgrade your reservation to the Preferred Room Location category. This will ensure that you will be located closest to El Centro, the resort's main hub including lobby, dining and shops, or closest to the Convention Centre.

After reserving or changing to this room category, I'd strongly recommend that you ask the Cast Member you speak with to include some notes on your reservation file. Here you'll want to mention the knee surgery, request a ground floor room and also specify a building or 'village' that's optimal for your needs. In your case, I'd recommend that you put your a request in for Cabanas 9B or Casitas 1 or 3 on the ground floor. To upgrade your room type and/or indicate a request in the notes on your reservation file, simply call (407) 939-7675 and speak with a Cast Member.

Although requests cannot be guaranteed, Cast Members will do their best to meet your needs at the time of room assignments, based on availability. Reserving the Preferred Location room type will better your chances of receiving an optimal location for your Guest who's had knee surgery.

If you'd prefer not to pay a room premium and take your chances on your request being fulfilled, keep in mind that there is an internal shuttle system that services the villages of Coronado Springs Resort, shuttling Guests to El Centro. Additionally, Disney Transportation Buses to the parks, water parks and Downtown Disney service a total of four stops around the property; one at each of the three resort villages at one at El Centro.

Please feel free to write me back any time if I may provide you with further assistance. I'd love to hear from you again Krista!

Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World!
