Hi, Susan!
I love
Coronado Springs. It is one of those resorts that you could relax at all week without ever going to a theme park!
One thing you need to know about this resort is that it is huge! For catching the bus, this is not a problem as there are several bus stops around the resort, so your walk to get a bus should never be more than 5-7 minutes. The same goes for the pools. There are multiple leisure pools scattered around the resort so there should be one near you regardless of your building.
The size of this resort comes into play with choosing between staying in a room near the lobby and food court vs. a room near the
main pool area, the Dig Site. They are basically on opposite sides of the resort with a lake, Lago Dorado between them.
If you think you will frequently be using the restaurants, food court, and lobby area during your stay, you will want to request Casitas 1. For room more near the Dig Site, you will want Cabanas Building 8 A. For an in-between location, your best bet might be Casitas 5. If you web-search a resort map, you can see how spread out the buildings are. It makes for an absolutely gorgeous resort, but it does cover a lot of land!
When booking your rooms, make sure you specify your room type. Water view (pool or lake), Standard View (gardens or parking lot), or Preferred Room (location to the main lobby). Because the "view" choice can be confusing, if you have a particular room in mind, I would book by phone at (407)W-DISNEY so a friendly cast member can book you the room type you desire.
Wishing you a magical stay at Coronado Springs!
Cathy
