Welcome to planDisney, Holly! It looks like you are planning the same excitement at
Walt Disney World Resort as I am. Next month, I am staying at
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort and taking my nephew to
Chef Mickeys. I cannot wait, just like you.
Also like you, hearing "Please stand clear from the doors. Por favor manténgase alejado de las puertas." is going to be part of the soundtrack to our transportation to
Disney's Contemporary Resort. As you asked, you can take a resort bus to
EPCOT. The
monorail station is not far from the resort bus area, before you go through the ticket gates to the park. Take the monorail from EPCOT to the Ticket and Transportation Center (the TTC). At the TTC, transfer to the Resort Monorail. On the Resort Monorail loop from the TTC, the Contemporary Resort will be the fourth stop.
Another option is taking the resort bus to
Magic Kindom Park. You will walk from the bus area across the entryway to the monorail station - heading across all the ticket gates with the view of the
Walt Disney World Railroad station - and hop on the Resort Monorail there. It's a short ride to the Contemporary Resort.
The best part is that there are so many choices. For a direct route, if you need to get to Chef Mickey's quickly, you can head to Magic Kingdom Park to ride the monorail to dinner. After dinner, if you have time and want to enjoy a more leisurely journey, you can take the monorail from the Contemporary Resort to the TTC; change monorail lines at the TTC to ride to EPCOT; and take a bus from EPCOT to Coronado Springs Resort. You could also take the monorail from the Contemporary Resort and resort hop to spend some time exploring the grounds at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. You can make Magic Kingdom Park your last monorail stop and take a bus back to your resort. On a non-park day, Disney's complimentary transportation system can make for quite a magical adventure.
If your dinner is later in the evening, be on the lookout for the
Electrical Water Pageant. A water parade you can enjoy from any of the three resorts on the monorail loop will certainly sprinkle some pixie dust on your non-park day.
Disney's Coronado Springs is a gorgeous resort. Check the activities boards posted throughout the property, especially for your non-park days. With the pools, campfire fun, and Movies Under the Stars you can relax, recharge, and have a blast on your resort-only days.
If you have any other questions as you plan your time at the Most Magical Place on Earth, please come back to
planDisney. We share your excitement and, sometimes even your plans.
TTFN,
Jana
