Hi Moms, Staying at the Cornado attending a confernce. There is a reserved block of rooms for attendees. Does that mean we will be in an inconvenient location? Do they keep the rooms closer to the main building or pool for non-conference guests? thanks

    Hi Tracee,
I've been to lots of conferences, but never one at Walt Disney World.  What fun!

I have also worked planning conferences and holding 'blocks' of rooms for conference attendees.  When a group holds a block of rooms, it does not necessarily mean all the rooms will be together in a certain area (unless the conference organizer requested that for some reason).

If I were you, I would take the bull by the horns and call Disney reservations directly (407-WDISNEY) to see what has been booked under your name.  You can also make a request for a certain area of the hotel.  Google 'Disney's Coronado Springs Resort Map' to find a map of the resort.  Then decide where you would like to be:  Casitas (buildings 1-5), Ranchos (buildings 6-7) or Cabanas (buildings 8-9).  Let reservations know your preference - but note that this is a request only, and not a guarantee of where you will be.  On check in, tell them again your preference - they will do their best to accommodate.

    Tracee, have a magical conference!

Walt Disney World stole my heart when my parents introduced me to the magic the year it opened. I fondly remember my first 'Mickey Mouse in a Glass House' balloon! I still visit with my parents-and now with my husband and our two teens. Learn More About Lynn
