We are staying at the copper creek resort, wilderness village. Should we bring the shimmies for our grandchildren or does the resort have some we can use? And what type are they? Thank you

    Hi Lorraine,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for bringing your question to us. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is one of my favorite resorts; I find the ambience at the resort so beautiful and relaxing, and it provides such a calm counterpoint to the excitement and bustle of the theme parks. I’m so excited for you and hope you love it as much as I do!

Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools do offer life jackets in a variety of sizes; they are complimentary and are usually hanging on racks located on the pool deck. The life jackets are the standard Coast Guard approved/UL devices. I think you are asking about “swimmies,” which I believe you are welcome to bring from home, as long as they are Coast Guard/UL approved. In my experience, the lifeguards at the Disney resort pools are wonderful, and they will come talk to you if there’s any safety concern.

Lorraine, enjoy your time at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. I highly recommend Whispering Canyon Cafe, which has delicious food and is a really fun place to eat. Make sure to ask for ketchup if you go there!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
