We are staying at the Copper Creak Resort and have a reservation at the Waillulu Gill at the Polynesian Villas and Bungalows. What is the best way to get to the Poly from Wilderness Lodge?

Greetings Larry and welcome back to planDisney!

It is truly an honor to chat with you, Larry! I appreciate that you have been a longtime friend of planDisney!  I’m also honored to talk about my two Disney Vacation Club homes, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows!

Let’s get you to a spectacular dining experience with a breath-taking view of the Magic Kingdom at the Wailulu Bar & Grill at the Polynesian!

Larry, you have a few options, but my favorite takes you on a couple of boat rides.  From the Wilderness Lodge boat dock that is located behind the resort, you can take a complimentary water taxi to the Magic Kingdom.  This scenic ride takes you past Disney's Contemporary Resort and gives you scenic views of the Disney Monorail as you glide across Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon. This ride normally takes 10-15 minutes.

Once you arrive at the Magic Kingdom, you will transfer to the water taxi that services the Polynesian with a quick stop at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.  The trip from the Magic Kingdom to the Polynesian will take close to 15 minutes when you add in the stop at the Grand Floridian.  When you arrive at the Polynesian you will follow the dock and keep right as you head toward the main building at the Polynesian.  You’ll then follow the signs to the Island Tower where you will find the Wailulu Bar & Grill! You will have beautiful views of the Magic Kingdom and the Grand Floridian as you dine in this magnificent tropical oasis!

Larry, if the boat ride isn’t your favorite mode of transportation, you can grab a complimentary bus from the Wilderness Lodge to the Magic Kingdom and jump on the Disney Resort Monorail to zip you to the Polynesian for your reservation. The Monorail stop is in the Great Ceremonial House Lobby on the second floor at the Polynesian, so you would need to walk downstairs and follow the signs to the Island Tower.

I will be staying at the Island Tower in November for the second time and there will definitely be a reservation made at the Wailulu Bar & Grill!  There will also be a short nap on one of the hammocks that are on the beach near the Island Tower!

Larry, have a great adventure and don’t forget to enjoy a Mickey Bar or two!
