Hi Betty,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I can imagine the excitement in your household as you prepare for your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
Disney's Contemporary Resort is my family's favorite resort and we typically stay in a Garden View room in the Garden Wing. Rest assured that there are drawers! On our last visit, our room had at least two drawers beside one of the beds and two drawers in the closet. There was also a nightstand in between the beds that had some drawer space. We had enough space for most of our clothes in addition to hanging some in the closets. While I love the Contemporary rooms, we never seem to have enough counter space for toiletries in the bathroom. We bring a disposable shoe rack and hang it in the room. We use it to store our toiletries so they do not consume all of the bathroom space.
Since we stay in the Garden Wing and the Garden Wing has laundry facilities, we also do not pack as much because I always wash clothes at least twice. To make it a little less painful, I wash when my husband is taking the girls to the pool.
Be sure you look at a resort map prior to your visit. Rooms in the 5000s are closer to the main building than rooms in the 6000s. On our last visit we had a room in the 6000 section of the Garden Wing and although it was a bit of a hike from the main building, we had a beautiful view of Bay Lake and we were not that far from the pool. We also always request a first floor room because they have patios and we love the additional space.
Be sure to dine at Chef Mickey's and California Grill! We love both and always make a reservation at California Grill for a late dinner so we can see the Magic Kingdom fireworks while dining!
Betty, I trust you will have a wonderful stay!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
