Hi Nancy,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort was the very first Walt Disney World Resort hotel I ever stayed in, and I absolutely loved it! I’ve been dreaming of returning for years…and I will be staying there in just a few short weeks. I’m so excited for both of us!
Depending on where your room is in the Garden Wing, your walk from the main building will be around five to ten minutes long (account for a few extra minutes the first time, as it’s easy to get lost in there when you first arrive). If you’re concerned about the mobility of any of the members of your party, I recommend calling Walt Disney World Resort Reservations at (407) 939-5277 to request a room that is close to the main building. You can also indicate this preference on your
Online Check-In request form.
I find the Garden Wing at Disney’s Contemporary Resort very peaceful, and it’s located close to the pool and beach areas. When it’s time to head to the theme parks, it’s an easy walk to the main tower to catch the monorail, or a short walk right to Magic Kingdom Park – an amenity that really can’t be beaten with a preschooler in tow!
I also must suggest making a stop at the
Contempo Café in the main building. They have the BEST cupcakes, and always have a special seasonal one that is both beautiful and delicious. I bet there will be something extra-magical the first week of November, when holiday pixie dust begins to fill the air.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
