we are staying at the contemporary. we have reservations for mickey's Backyard BBQ. Can we ride the boat from our hotel to fort wilderness?

    Hi Sandra,

Thank you for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  Mickey's Backyard BBQ is so much fun, the food is incredible and the entertainment is great as well.

In order to arrive at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground from Disney's Contemporary Resort, you can simply take the boat.  The boat launch is located at the back of the Resort Hotel.  I would recommend allowing plenty of time to arrive at your destination as I find the boats tend to take a little longer than other modes of transportation, but they are also way more fun!  At the boat launch, there are signs indicating routes that each boat will take, so make sure you take the boat that goes to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.  If you are unsure of which boat will take you to Mickey's Backyard BBQ, simply ask the Cast Member prior to boarding the boat and they will be happy to point you in the right direction.

If you have time, I would also suggest taking the time to explore Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.  The atmosphere is so serene and there are so many great sights to see!  My daughter loves visiting Tri-Circle-D Ranch to admire the horses and other animals, it is truly an experience.

I hope you enjoy Mickey's Backyard BBQ, Sandra.  Please let us know if you have any other questions, we are always here to help.
