Hi Fred,
Thanks for bringing your question about transportation around
Walt Disney World Resort to planDisney.
Disney's Contemporary Resort was the first Disney Resorts Collection hotel I visited as a young child and I can still remember how awesome it was to see the monorail pass through the resort for the first time. It was pure Disney magic!
The
Disney Skyliner is an attraction and transportation option in one. Scenic aerial views abound and, if you time it right, you may even catch a glimpse of some fireworks.
EPCOT's Disney Skyliner station is located at the park's International Gateway entrance, but EPCOT's monorail station is located at the main entrance. A theme park ticket would be required to walk from one entrance to the other. The quickest, most direct route back to the Contemporary from Disney's Hollywood Studios is by
Walt Disney World Resort bus. That being said, the adventurer in me is often called to seek the route less traveled so let me give you another option. If experiencing Disney Skyliner is a priority, take a ride to EPCOT, then catch a Resort bus at nearby Disney's Beach Club Resort to Magic Kingdom park. From there you can take the Resort monorail one stop to the Contemporary or enjoy the 10-minute walk back to your resort.
Be sure to enjoy a meal at the new
Steakhouse 71, located on the first level of Disney's Contemporary Resort. Celebrate the rich heritage of Walt Disney World Resort while enjoying steak and potatoes as you've never tasted them before. The Gourmet Grilled Cheese on the lunch menu is a personal favorite. Advanced dining reservations are highly recommended.
Have a magical day,
Jennifer
