Staying at the Contemporary 8/28-9/4 in the Garden Wing. Room has "garden view". What are best rooms in this category? Can we request a first floor room with patio? Can patio door be locked if you go to pool or beach from that door? Thanks for y

    Hi Thomas,

When staying in the garden wing at Disney's Contemporary Resort, I suggest you request a room as close as possible to the resort's main tower.  That will save you some extra steps as you head to the Magic Kingdom or to board the monorail on the resort's Grand Concourse.  First floor garden wing rooms do have patios and you should lock them from the inside before leaving your room to go anywhere.  If you desire a room on the first floor, call your reservation specialist (either through the Disney travel office or your personal travel agent) to ask them to add your request to your reservation.  While room requests are not guaranteed, the Cast Members who assign rooms will do everything in their power to grant your request.

You can read more about the amenities and configurations of these rooms at the independent website, allears.net.  Just pick "Walt Disney World" from the pull-down menu and choose "accommodations."  Disney's Contemporary Resort will be one of the options you can then choose from the left side of the screen.

Wishing you an amazing Walt Disney World vacation later this summer!
