Ahoy, Kathleen! Disney by land and sea is my favorite vacation combination. Leaving the Most Magical Place on Earth is a bit easier when you are headed to a
Disney Cruise Line ship. And it sounds like you are sharing this with a lot of family. So exciting!
Disney Resorts Collection hotels offer luggage transfer between resorts, but it is unlikely to work in your situation because of timing. Once you leave your bags at Bell Services, you cannot control how quickly they get to the central location, sorted and delivered to the other resort. It works well if you leave your bags and head to a theme park for the day, but you will need your bags when the private shuttle picks you up early in the morning.
I can think of two options for you. First, when I used private transportation from
Walt Disney World to
Port Canaveral for a Disney cruise, the driver offered to make a stop for us. We hopped off the Beeline Highway to pick up bottled water en route to the port. It was a benefit of using private transportation. I would check with your transportation provider to see if they would do two pick-ups in the morning.
Disney's Contemporary Resort and the
Grand Floridian are so close that it is worth asking.
The other option is to use a rideshare service, like Uber or Lyft, to take you to the Grand Floridian. It would be a quick ride to join your family.
Make sure you pack your bags for your first day on board. Once you arrive at the port, you drop your luggage off, and it will
automagically appear at your stateroom door later in the day. Pack a carry-on bag to keep any essentials with you, like your
required travel documents, medications and sunscreen.
Kathleen, I hope your time enjoying the best of Disney on board and the shore is perfect in every way! If you have any other questions, please cruise back by
planDisney. You've got a friend in us!
Magic Awaits!
