We are staying at the Contemporary BLTowers from 5/28 to 5/31. We weren't able to get an ADR at Chef Mickey's for 5/31. Is it true that there are typically lots of no shows and we will probably be able to get an early res that morning? Your thoughts??

    Hi Robin,

I'm sure you're excited about your upcoming trip -- it will be here before you know it!

There are often no-shows for character dining.  Guests sometimes make multiple reservations and forget to cancel, or they make early reservations and then decide they'd rather sleep in than dine with Mickey.  So, it is often possible to walk in without a reservation and get a table.

HOWEVER - Memorial Day Weekend can be quite crowded, so I don't know if I would count on that being the case.

The great thing about staying at Bay Lake Towers is that you won't be going out of your way to get to Chef Mickey's.  It doesn't hurt to check and see if a table is available.  Just don't promise your children that they are doing a character breakfast and be prepared with a back-up plan in case you can't get a table.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
