Staying at the contempo, would it be hard to get to mickeys bybbq. We don't like to take the busses when we are there, usually we stick on the monorail. Do you think the kids would like going to this. They are 4,6,8, and we will have the delux ddp.

Travel between Disney's Contemporary Resort and Fort Wilderness Campground (home to Mickey's Backyard BBQ) is smooth sailing... with no buses involved!  The complimentary water launch travels directly from the Contemporary to Fort Wilderness and only takes about 5-10 minutes!  This is a fun and relaxing boat ride across Bay Lake, and an experience that my family has grown very fond of over the years! My daughter adores the cute little boats and it's never a hassle at all!

Once you unload at the Fort Wilderness Marina, simply make your way up the path towards "The Settlement" and you will see signs which will lead you to Mickey's Backyard BBQ!  After your fun boat ride, your kids will enjoy dancing with their favorite Disney pals at the BBQ!  The outdoor amphitheater provides the perfect setting and the traditional "picnic foods" are really yummy as well!  I think your kids are at the perfect age to really get the most out of this unique experience!

You can easily book reservations for Mickey's Backyard BBQ online or by calling (407)WDW-DINE using your Disney Dining Plan, but please note, this dinner show costs 2 Dining Credits.

After the show, simply return to the Fort Wilderness Marina to catch your return boat to the Contemporary! On the way back, your launch will make one stop at the Wilderness Lodge before reaching your destination, the Contemporary!  Easy Peasy...and NO buses! :)

Please feel free to site back if you think of any other questions!!!  I just love spreading Pixie Dust on Disney vacations!
