Hi we are staying @ Colorado Springs from 30 Aug - 6 Sep and I was wondering what to expect weather and crowd size? Thanks for you answer.

The latter part of August and the entire month of September have long been deemed some of the best times to visit, if low crowds are a high priority to you.  Disney publishes a calendar that highlights some of the best times to visit based on factors that include low crowds and mild weather.  And you're in luck because your dates are among those suggested as ideal!

My family almost always travels in September because we love the lower crowd levels.  One thing we've learned to deal with, though, are the afternoon rain showers that are so common to Orlando at that time of year.  It will also still be quite warm, and quite humid.  Many guests come prepared with ponchos and brave the short-lived storms that pass through the area.  The good news is that the rain typically doesn't linger for long.  But do be aware that those storms can drop a lot of water in a short time.

We've always loved our late summer vacations.  I hope yours will be just as magical!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
