Hi Kayla,
Welcome to planDisney! And happiest of birthdays to your daughter!
I am so excited for your upcoming trip, especially since Disney's Contemporary Resort is one of our favorite resort hotels! Both of our girls have food allergies. One of them has four allergies including peanuts and tree nuts like your daughter so we have faced similar questions. On a prior visit, when we stayed in a Club Level room at Disney's BoardWalk Inn, they had peanut butter sandwiches in the Club Level Lounge the first day we arrived. We spoke with a cast member, and they brought our daughter another sandwich. While we waited, our daughter did find other items that she could eat in the lounge and, aside from having to get a different sandwich that one time, our girls were able to find food options in the lounge during our stay.
As you continue planning, I would suggest that you reach out to the
Special Dietary Requests team no sooner than 14 days prior to your arrival date. They should be able to provide some additional guidance. Or, as soon as you arrive, speak with a cast member at the resort to let them know about the allergies.
We just returned from a stay at Disney's Bay Lake Tower and had a wonderful time enjoying the amenities at Disney's Contemporary Resort. As you know, the dining options are wonderful. If you are also considering
advanced dining reservations, I do hope you plan to dine at
California Grill and
Chef Mickey's! We also had a lovely breakfast at
Steakhouse 71 and all of the cast members were quite helpful with accommodating our girls' food allergies.
Kayla, if I had a contest, you would be in the running for parent of the year! A trip to the Walt Disney World Resort is a magical birthday gift! If you have not considered a special photo session, I recommend doing a
Capture Your Moment session at Magic Kingdom. We did one and the photos were super cute. It's a lovely way to bring those priceless memories home.
Magic and memories,
Donyell
