Will be staying at CBR this trip, a new resort for us! I hear that from some of the beaches the high Illuminations displays are visible. Arriving at dinner time, wondering which village we should wander to in order to catch best view of this nice surprise.

Hi Megan! Thanks for stopping by to see us again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Pull up a hammock and let's chat about Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort!

I'm a lifelong Florida girl, so anything with the word "beach" in the name will surely get my attention. Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort lives up to the beach vibe, with its island-inspired decor, tropical landscaping and, of course, a beach in each village where you can sink your toes in the sand after a long day at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks.

Since the Caribbean Beach Resort is in the Epcot resort area, you'll definitely know when it's time for Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. While you won't be able to see most of the in-park show (like the lasers), there are vantage points where you can see the higher fireworks. I've read reviews saying you can see them from the beaches in the Aruba or Jamaica villages. One thing I know from experience: you can definitely see a good portion of the fireworks from the deck overlooking the lake just off the Fuentes del Morro pool area.

You might try kicking off your evening with the nightly movie under the stars in the Old Port Royale area, then step over to the walkway just behind the Banana Cabana Pool Bar to take in the fireworks.

I'd suggest asking a Cast Member or two where they recommend watching the show. Ask at the check-in desk, ask a lifeguard at the pool, and most definitely ask a bartender at Banana Cabana. Bartenders seem to know a little bit of everything!

I hope this helps you kick off your Walt Disney World vacation with a bang, Megan! Please visit us again if you have any more questions.

    Have a magical day,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
