Room requests can be made via the general Disney reservations line at 407-W-DISNEY. Ask them to look up your reservation and add your request information to your file. While room requests are generally not guaranteed, medical requests receive priority consideration. Be sure to think about other needs your veteran may have such as special shower configurations or other accommodations. You should call Disney now to discuss your options. Additionally, you should make a follow-up call a few days before your trip to confirm your room request. Former Moms Panelist Bret does a great job of explaining how to do this
HERE.
You should also be aware that Disney does make some accommodations for guests with mobility
challenges. This is done on a case by case basis. You can find out more
information on Disney's website
HERE. Additionally, you might find the book
Passporter's Open Mouse for Walt Disney World
to be very helpful. This guide, which is available at many bookstores
and through Amazon.com, gives in-depth descriptions of every ride and
attraction at WDW and details the physical challenges associated with
them. It's a great resource that will make you as prepared as possible
for your upcoming adventure.
Please give my thanks to your veteran for his service. I hope you all have a wonderful visit to WDW.
