Staying at CBR 9/5-9/13 with rental car. Planning on park hopping a few days. Should we use our car to get from one park to another? Can we walk/monorail, etc. more easily/quickly than driving between any two certain parks? Thanks!

Hi Kellie! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

We're lucky enough to live only an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so we always have our car with us when we're there. On the occasions when we stay in a Resort hotel, we usually park the car once and leave it sitting in the same spot until the day we check out.

Transportation from your Resort hotel to the Theme Parks, or from one park to another, is generally quick and convenient. There are a couple of times you might want to consider driving to your destination, though. First, if you have a dining reservation in a different Resort hotel from the one you're staying in, you might find it easier to to drive than having to take a bus to a Theme Park and transfer to another bus. Also, we'll often bring our car with us to the Theme Park on the last day of our stay so we can just hit the road once we've said our good-byes to our happy place.

Other than those few exceptions, we find it much more relaxing to sit back and let Disney do the driving.

I hope this helps you navigate Walt Disney World transportation, Kellie. Please motor on by again if you have any more questions!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
