We are staying at CBR and having dinner with Chef Mickey on the first night of our Disney stay and I was wondering if their was a location that we could watch the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom without having to pay to do so.

    Hi Suzy,

I think you are beginning your trip perfectly!  Dinner with Mickey then followed by the fireworks. Our favorite spot to watch the fireworks outside of the Magic Kingdom is the beach at the Polynesian Resort, which is just two monorail stops away from the Contemporary Resort.

I'm a big fan of visiting other Disney resorts, too, so this would give you a chance to explore two resorts in addition to your home resort in one evening.  And the Polynesian resort is so lovely with its tropical gardens and torch-lit sidewalks in the evening. There is also the bonus of the Electrical Water Pageant (a water parade) at 9:00 pm every evening.

If you'd prefer to stay at the Contemporary Resort, there is a viewing area on the 4th floor; you can check with any cast member to point you in the right direction.  Just keep in mind that the view can be obstructed by the monorail tracks.

Have a wonderful trip; please let us know if we can help again.
