Ahoy, Shana! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, matey!
The Pirate rooms at
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort are so immersive – swashbucklers feel the story come alive as they explore all the treasures and Disney details in the room and drift off to sleep in their very own pirate ship bed. One of my very favorite things about visiting Walt Disney World Resort is the theming – I could spend hours looking in each window on Main Street, U.S.A. in
Magic Kingdom Park and exploring all the Disney details, and I think the Pirate rooms are another wonderful example of storytelling at its finest in The Most Magical Place on Earth.
You’re right that your pirate crew will be taking a bit of a voyage to get from your Pirate room to Old Port Royale, the main area of Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, where you’ll find dining and the amazing
Fuentes del Morro pool. I’d say it’s about a 10-15 minute walk, depending on your room location and destination. I love walking through Disney resorts; in fact, I love to stay at
moderate resorts because there are gorgeous walking paths, and I enjoy spending my quiet time taking in the lovely landscaping and theming. However, I absolutely understand that this can be a drawback, especially with younger children or those for whom walking longer distances is a challenge.
Shana, your best bet is to call Walt Disney World Resort Reservations at (407) 939-1936 to discuss your options. If you’re willing to change to a non-Pirate room at the resort, they’ll be able to let you know about availability and pricing. (Please be prepared that there may not be availability at the resort, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.) If you’d like to be close to the feature pool, you could even ask about the price difference and availability of a
Preferred room. Or, if your swashbucklers want to remain in a Pirate room, you can ask about requesting a location closer to the main building; while requests can’t be guaranteed, it’s worth adding that request to your reservation. There are 5 leisure pools throughout the resort, and while they aren’t themed as impressively as the feature pool, they tend to be quieter, and my Mouseketeers sometimes prefer them for that reason.
Yo-ho, yo-ho, enjoy the pirate’s life at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort! I adore the resort’s tropical vibes, which instantly put me in vacation mode, and this resort is home to some amazing
dining. I hope you’ll have a chance to enjoy a frozen drink or two poolside, soaking in the gorgeous views and feeling so relaxed. Enjoy!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
