Staying at Caribbean Beach January 22-26. The Skyliner will be down. Do you think it’s worth changing resorts, and if so, to which? We are only going to Magic Kingdom and Epcot.

Hello, Jessica and welcome to planDisney!

2024 and your Magical vacation will be here before you know it, so I'm glad you stopped by with your question. While some of our favorite attractions and (in reference to your question) modes of transportation must receive routine maintenance, I understand that it can be frustrating and cause plans to change.

Jessica, I love the stage of trip planning where we select our Disney Resort Hotel and I'm a firm believer that each is wonderful in its own way. There is no one-size-fits-all "best" resort, so let's chat about the perks of Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. If the primary reason you selected this property is its access to the Disney Skyliner, I'll offer up two other alternatives that might be of interest. However, if the Disney Skyliner was only a small part of what excited you about this resort, you may want to consider keeping your plans the same.

If you'd like to explore other options, and keeping in mind that you're visiting Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT, two of my favorite resorts are Disney's Port Orleans- French Quarter and Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

         - Disney's Port Orleans- French Quarter has a great New Orleans vibe and beignets onsite. This is a smaller property in size, making it easy to navigate no matter where your room is located. There is also a boat available to Disney Springs if you have any time on your arrival or departure day that you'd like to do some shopping or grab a bite to eat!

         - Disney's Wilderness Lodge is a deluxe resort that is themed after the Pacific Northwest and has a stunning lobby that is warm and cozy. I love grabbing a cup of coffee in the morning from Roaring Fork and enjoying the view in front of the fireplace. This resort is convenient when you're visiting Magic Kingdom Park since it offers dedicated boat service.

Jessica, if you selected Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort for the island theming or onsite dining options like Sebastian's Bistro, I would consider keeping your current reservation and soaking up all the fun to be had at his resort.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to come back and see your new pals here at planDisney. No matter which resort your choose, I'll be wishing on a star that you have a pixie-dusted stay,
