I will be staying at a campsite at Fort Wilderness next weekend, but won't get there until after sunset. Does each campsite have their own lighting or can the car be pulled in at such an angle that the headlights would serve as lighting to pitch the tent?

    Elizabeth:

    Hello to a fellow camper!

Lighting varies greatly from campsite to campsite. Some receive lots of light from the street lamps, while others can be quite dark if they're heavily wooded or in what I call the "spooky" loop 1900. There is a knee-high post with a light at each site, but it's simply to mark the driveway and site. My husband built a Mickey lamp post that we assemble just to add extra light to our site.

If you're just tent-camping, you'll have plenty of room on the pad--even at the partial hookups sites--to pull your car in for extra lighting if you need it. But I'd also recommend a lantern or two and several flashlights just in case there's no moon.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
