We are staying at the campgrounds but I am nervous about how to get to the boat launch to Magic Kingdom with 5 kids and 2 strollers. Since we get free parking at the campground can we drive to the lodge and park to take the boat to Magic Kingdom?

Howdy Jenny and welcome back to planDisney!

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is my favorite Walt Disney World Resort!  I have been camping there since I was little and love taking my kids to make new Fort Wilderness memories.  There's nothing better than being in the tranquility of the "wilderness" while being so close to the magic.  Listening to the whistle of the train at Magic Kingdom Park is my favorite way to wake up in the morning.

Transportation around Fort Wilderness is a bit limited since cars are not allowed to park near the amenities.  The easiest way to get around is by golf cart, which can be rented right at the Resort.  Fitting 5 children and 2 strollers might be a bit tricky, but they do have a few that fit 6 with 2 rows of seating plus the back bench.  If you're interested in renting a golf cart, give them a call as soon as possible to secure one for your trip next week.

If you do not have a golf cart and want to use the water taxi, your options are walking or taking an internal bus that picks up at every loop.  Depending on where your campsite or cabin is located, the walk isn't too far to the marina and it's a beautiful walk at that.  If you are riding the bus, strollers do have to be folded.  I don't know how easy this would be for you without knowing the ages of your children, but it is possible.  Parking at another Disney Resort hotel is only available for Resort Guests who are staying at that hotel or for Guests with a dining reservation, so parking at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is not an option.  The theme parks have strollers for rent if you're interested in leaving yours at the campground and renting a couple of strollers at Magic Kingdom Park.

Your last option would be to drive to the Transportation and Ticket Center to park your car, which is complementary since you are a Disney Resort hotel Guest, and then taking the ferry boat or the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom.  You would not need to fold your strollers for either of these, so that might be your most convenient way to travel.

Please stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.

    Have a magical day!
