Hi Michelle, thanks for visiting planDisney!
As my favorite country bears once sang, “ain’t nothing like the great outdoors to ease your soul, ain’t nothing like the great outdoors to keep you from growin’ old”!
Your trip to
The Campsites at Fort Wilderness is coming soon, and you’re gathering all your supplies! I’m pleased to tell you that you will be able to sit and relax around a campfire, with a few restrictions. You are allowed to bring your own firepit, but
it must be all metal and have a metal top. This is to prevent open flames and the release of embers or sparks. If you’re not sure about your firepit model, please ask to speak to a Resort manager.
Michelle, if you decide not to bring your own firepit, on select nights you can still gather around the campfire, roast s’mores, and maybe sing a song or two at
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long! Following the campfire, there’s also a nightly Movie Under the Stars.
If you’re looking for more adventure, there are so many unique activities at Fort Wilderness, such as the
Fort Wilderness Archery Experience,
canoe or
kayak rentals, or
horseback riding. You may have seen Disney Parks recently share that glass bottles recycled at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds are turned into soft gravel and sand, which is then used for horse riding trails! How cool is that? I know the Cast Members at
Tri-Circle-D Ranch would love to share more about the horses and ponies they care for in the stables.
Before you tuck in for the evening, be sure to make your way to the shoreline of Bay Lake to catch the
Electrical Water Pageant! No matter where I'm staying, it's my favorite way to end the day.
I hope this information was helpful, Michelle! To quote those Country Bears again, “it’s time for a vacation, for rest and relaxation! Forget your cares and join us bears in the great outdoors!”
