I am staying at Calypso Cay and they said the cab from the airport to disney world is about $70 each way, Is that correct? I didn't want a rental car since we will be at DW the whole time but it sounds like it would be cheaper?

Hi Pauline! While I've never stayed at that particular off-site resort, I fear that the cab fare quote they gave you is pretty accurate. Some websites, such as allow you to estimate cab fares from one location to another and it looks like the trip from Orlando International Airport to Calypso Cay does average close to $70. I agree with you that a rental car often makes sense when you're staying off-site. You'll save those taxi fees and you'll have an easier time traveling to and from your resort and the Disney parks.  The unofficial website has lots of information on rental car discounts -- it's quite possible that you can find a car rental deal that's less expensive than the taxi fare. (One of the benefits of staying at a Disney resort hotel is the free Magical Express transportation to and from the airport and free transportation from the hotel to the parks, so if it's not too late to change your hotel reservation, you might want to consider doing that instead.)

Have a magical vacation! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions!
