Suzanne from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We are staying at the California Grand on November 27. I tried to make dinner reservations at the Blue Bayou for that night for 6 people. It shows there is no availability. This is for my sister's 60th birthday. Any tips to get a reservation?

    Welcome to planDisney, Suzanne!

And can we just talk about how awesome it is that you're staying at the gorgeous Grand Californian Hotel & Spa! Fun fact: Not only is the lobby of this hotel decked to the max for the holidays, they even have their own signature scent  – talk about fancy!

I'm so glad that I saw your question and have the opportunity to share some more tips with you about securing dining at The Merriest Place On Earth before you arrive next week. Trust me: you will want to take advantage of all of the delicious food options available in the parks!

To answer your question, booking dining online or in the Disneyland Mobile App is definitely still possible by checking back regularly. Plans change for guests all the time, and you never know when there will be a cancellation that is perfect for you! Hopefully, with a little faith, trust, and pixie dust, you can get a reservation for dining too!

I've also had luck with the walk-up list if the Blue Bayou Restaurant is fully booked. You can try your luck by visiting the restaurant in person and asking if any tables are available.

I hope these tips help you snag a table for your desired dining experience, Suzanne. Just remember: even if you don't get to dine at the specific restaurant you had in mind, there are still so many delicious options available that are fit for a birthday queen. There's no shortage of tasty options, and I'm sure you'll find something you love.

I'm sending you the warmest wishes for a magical time creating birthday memories with your family, Suzanne. You can follow up with me directly for the quickest response. I love sharing my favorite tips and tricks for visiting the resort.
