We are staying at the cabins at ft. wilderness. How do we get to HS using disney transportation? And, about how long will it take? Thanks!

    Lauren:

Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel!

Our family loves Fort Wilderness and considers it our home away from home. The cabins provide a welcomed respite from the busy theme parks with lots of room to spread out. I think you'll really enjoy your time at the resort.

Fort Wilderness runs internal bus transportation within the resort along with Disney transportation that traverses across Disney property, theme parks, and resorts. You can either walk to the Outpost Bus Depot at the front of the fort to catch a bus to Disney's Hollywood Studios or you can catch one of the fort's internal buses marked "Outpost" to the external bus stop. If you're an active family, I recommend walking, especially if you're in Cabin Loops 2700 or 2800.

The bus ride to DHS is only about 20 minutes, but keep in mind that the buses typically run about every 20 minutes, so you could find the trip taking anywhere from 35 minutes from your cabin if you walk and step right onto a bus to over an hour if you wait on the internal bus and then have to wait on the DHS bus.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
