We are staying in the cabins at Fort Wilderness. My husband will have a scooter. What is the distance he would have to go from cabins to the first bus stop. Will we have to wait a longer time for a bus because of the scooter.

    Hi Bonnie!

The Fort Wilderness Cabins are such a good choice when you are visiting the Walt Disney World resort. They offer you privacy and quiet and a peaceful atmosphere. You are sure to see the local deer residents as well as the turkey flocks.

Be sure and request a handicap cabin if you would like your husband to be able to ride it to the door and inside. These cabins will have a long ramp allowing him to do this. Your second request would be to have a cabin as close to the bus stops as possible. There are several stops throughout the cabin loops so it allows guests to not have too far to walk to get to them. But it will all depend on the location of your cabin. Some loops are longer then others and if you get a cabin at the furthest point it would take about five minutes to get to a bus stop. That is why a request for location would be important.

All of the Disney buses can accommodate scooters so you will not be denied entrance unless there are already the maximum scooters loaded on the buses. That would be the only reason you would have to wait for the next bus and that happens rarely.

Disney appreciates all their guests and will work to make everyone as comfortable as possible. I know you will have a magical and wonderful vacation!
