Hiya Thomas,
Welcome back to planDisney! While I may not be an outdoorsy girl, I make an exception for Fort Wilderness Resort. It is so relaxing over there, and I also love how close it is to Magic Kingdom! I’m so excited for you to go back and stay there again!
Thomas, if you are looking for the easiest way to get to
Disney Springs for free, then I recommend taking the bus! You will need to take two: one, which is the internal Fort Wilderness bus to the Outpost Depot at the front of the campground, and then a bus from there to Disney Springs. Typically, the buses depart every 20 minutes, and then it is around a 15-minute ride from the Outpost Depot to Disney Springs (you can use your
My Disney Experience mobile app to track the bus schedule). Another option that you can use is the
Minnie Van Service (which is not complimentary). The Minnie Van is operated through Lyft, and you can arrange for it to pick you up near your
campsite (or
cabin), and then a friendly Cast Member will drop you off at Disney Springs. Although you do pay for this ride, I appreciate that it is generally quicker and more convenient. I also travel with two Mouseketeers under four, so any way that I can minimize my wait, I will do.
I hope this was helpful, Thomas. I know you are a little bit away from your trip, but you will be visiting during the springtime at Walt Disney World Resort, and I’ve always loved the fresh flavors that are inspired by that time of year at Disney Springs. You will generally see limited-time offerings at the dining locations, and I always make a list of must-trys each year. Be sure to check out
Disney Parks Blog before your trip to get a preview of what may be available during your trip for you to enjoy! Please come back and see us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
