We are staying in the cabins at Fort Wilderness Campground with 4 kids, ages 16, 8, 6, & 5. How necessary is it to get golf carts to get where we need to go around the premises? I am concerned after long days at the parks the kids aren't going to keep

    Hi Ann!

Fort Wilderness Resort is huge.  There's an internal bus system to take you to a bus stop at the edge of the resort where you can catch other buses to the various theme parks, water parks, and Downtown Disney; or you can take the internal bus to the boat dock where you can catch a boat to the Magic Kingdom.  It's  a super long walk from one end of the campground to the other end.

Thus I recommend that people staying at Fort Wilderness either have their own car, so that they can easily get to and from the theme parks, or to rent a golf cart.  The golf cart makes getting around Fort Wilderness a lot easier and it's a lot of fun!

By the way, be sure to make an Advanced Dining Reservation at Trail's End.  I love having breakfast and dinner there.  It's one of the best values in all of Walt Disney World!
