We are staying in a cabin at Fort Wilderness and are wondering if it is possible to bring our own portable grill to use? We know there is a charcoal grill but are specifically asking if bringing our own is okay to use at our cabin.

    Howdy, Heather!

Welcome to planDisney and thanks for galloping over with your question. It looks like you'll be arriving at the Walt Disney World Resort in just a couple of days - yee-haw! I'm excited to hear that you'll be staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and I'm happy to share information about permitted items, Heather.

I can't think of a more relaxing place to stay than the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. You and your cowpokes will be able to reconnect with nature while staying just around the riverbend from Magic Kingdom Park! Heather, as a Guest of the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, you'll have a charcoal grill located right outside your cabin. However, after confirming with a friendly Cast Member, I'm pleased to let you know that you'll be welcome to bring your own portable grill if you'd prefer! Heather, please ensure that the grill has a lid that encloses the flame while in use. The Cast Member I spoke with mentioned that this is a requirement for all personal grills, for safety reasons. Portable grills may only be used outside of cabins and must be supervised and controlled at all times.

During your stay at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, be sure to check out Tri-Circle-D Ranch (located near the Settlement area) to say howdy to the "Happiest Horses on Earth!" Pony rides are available to little cowpokes for a nominal fee, and it's always a treat to gaze at the historic and famed Dragon Calliope. Heather, as a Guest of the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, you'll also have a front-row seat for one of my favorite entertainment offerings in all of the Walt Disney World Resort: the Electrical Water Pageant! This shimmering spectacle illuminates Bay Lake nightly, and you'll have a fantastic vantage point from the shoreline of the campground.

Heather, I sure hope that you find this information useful. I'm wishing you a rootin' tootin' good time at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground! If you have any additional questions before or during your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, feel free to mosey on back to planDisney again anytime. We're here to help, partner!

    Happy trails,

    Lauren
