We are staying at BW Easter vacation - how much time should we leave ourselves when traveling to our dinner reservations at California Grill, Jiko, Spirit of Aloha- and what's the best way to get to these places from BW resort

    Hi Nicole,

It sounds like you and your family will be traveling in style.  Boardwalk is a beautiful resort and you have chosen some of the best dining experiences on Disney property!

When we travel, we try to give ourselves about an hour for travel time.  There are several options for getting to your destination.  For Spirit of Aloha & California Grill, I recommend taking the bus from your hotel to the Magic Kingdom.  From there, you can hop on a monorail to the Polynesian & Contemporary.  Also, there is a walking path that leads directly from the Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary, so that's another option.

To get to Jiko, you can take a bus from your resort to a theme park or Downtown Disney (just take whichever bus comes first) and then transfer to a bus headed for Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Another option, if you don't mind the stroll, is to take the walkway from your hotel to Hollywood Studios and board a bus headed to Animal Kingdom Lodge.

To get back to the Boardwalk after your meal, you'll need to do the same thing.  Hop on the first bus headed to a park or Downtown Disney and then transfer to a bus going to your resort.  You can also take a cab if you prefer a direct route and don't mind paying the cab fare.  I know at the end of a long day in the parks, this is sometimes worth it for my family.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
