Hey there, Alana! Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with your vacation planning question.
Since you are staying in one of the fabulous Bungalows at
Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows and mentioned the Community Hall, I am thinking that you must be a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member, so, let me offer you a warm Welcome Home and a loud "EEEEEK!" A Bungalow?! How amazing and exciting! I seriously just got chills thinking about how unforgettable this stay at the Polynesian will be, especially since you haven't experienced its pixie-dusted tropical vibes since 2014. There is seriously SO much magic in the air at this Resort, and I'm thrilled to help you pixie-dust your downtime!
My first suggestion to make the most of a Resort day is always to snap a picture of the Resort Activities board in the lobby as soon as you arrive. That way, you'll always have easy access to the list of activities and schedules right on your smartphone. Don't miss the free recreation offerings and activities right at your Resort, such as Hula Dance Lessons, the Lava Pool Party, Lawn Games, Aloha After Dark, the Video Game Dance Party, Trivia, the campfire, and Movies Under the Stars, just to name a few. While activities can change each month, when I was there a couple of months ago, Guests could also design and create their own themed, Resort-specific crafts, such as a Kukui Nut Lei or Wooden Tiki Masks for a small fee. This is such a fun activity and the best Disney memory and souvenir! Be sure to check out the
Recreation tab on the Resort's webpage for even more ways to enjoy your fantastic Resort! While DVC discounts are always subject to change, right now, Members can save 15 percent on boat rentals at the Mikala Canoe Club!
One of my favorite Resort activities is pool time, and the
Lava Pool and Oasis Pool are two of the best in all of Walt Disney World Resort! Did you know that you can rent an Oasis Patio for up to six Guests to relax with privacy, shade, comfy chairs, towels, and more?! Enjoy delicious Hawaiian food and cocktails delivered to your Patio from
Oasis Bar & Grill while you kick up your feet and soak up the magic. To book, just call (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529.
Since the DVC Resort Community Halls are only available to Guests of the Resort where the Community Hall is located, to explore your surroundings around the Magic Kingdom Resort Area, I suggest planning a progressive dining experience along the monorail loop! For example, walk over to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for a cocktail and/or appetizer at Enchanted Rose (I recommend the Lavender Fog!), then hop the monorail over to Disney's Contemporary Resort for dinner at
Steakhouse 71. Take the monorail back to your magical home away from home for dessert. I recommend a delicious DOLE Whip Pineapple Swirl Float from Pineapple Lanai (YUM!) before you catch the Electrical Water Pageant from your Bungalow. BEST. DAY. EVER!
Alana, make sure you have your Theme Park Pass reservations and your new digital DVC Membership Card downloaded from the My Disney Experience app into your digital wallet. Now, you're ready to have the most unforgettable magical vacation! Stop by any time with any vacation planning or DVC questions you may have.
I hope to see ya real soon,
Mandy
