Josie, there are two different types of resort reservations - vacation packages (tickets and hotel reservations) and room-only reservations. The
balance for room-only reservations is due at check-in, so you won't see an option to make a payment in your My Disney Experience account after paying your initial deposit. While you can wait until you arrive for your vacation to pay that remaining balance, I spoke with a Cast Member who shared that you should be able to
call Tickets and Hotel Reservations for assistance if you'd prefer to pay in advance.
Now, Josie, let's have a little fun looking ahead to your vacation! I think you’re going to love your stay at
Disney’s BoardWalk Villas, as this location is one of my favorites! Not only are you within walking distance of both
EPCOT and
Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but you’re just steps away from all the great dining and entertainment you’ll find around
Disney’s BoardWalk. We’ve enjoyed some wonderful meals at
Trattoria al Forno and character dining at
Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast at Cape May Cafe.
Topolino’s Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera at Disney's Riviera Resort is also easily accessible via the
Disney Skyliner for either a character breakfast or a delicious Italian dinner. I also enjoy strolling the BoardWalk area at night, where I've often found live performers, such as magicians and musicians!
You've also picked a great time of year to visit Walt Disney World, as this summer you can enjoy
free water park admission on your check-in day. Whether you choose to visit
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, I'm sure you'll find this is a
SPLASH-tacular way to start your vacation!
