We are staying at the Boardwalk 11/6-11/13, we will have our own car would we be better driving to AK and MK or taking the buses? We will be traveling with 4 & 2 yr old and our stroller. This is our first trip should we plan for the Xmas party or skip

Hi Nicole!  Our favorite resorts are the Yacht and Beach Club so we know that area quite well!  I would strongly suggest you do NOT take your car to the Magic Kingdom.  You will have to park quite a distance from the park and then take the tram to the ferry or the monorail.   Lots of lines to wait in!  When you take the bus it will drop you off literally at the front entrance to the park.  The small time you will wait for the bus at either end is worth it for avoiding all the other lines and waits

It is a toss up about driving or taking the bus to the Animal Kingdom Park. The buses are located quite a distance from the entrance and it is often just as easy to drive and park and take the tram which drops you off in front.

When taking the Disney buses please remember that all strollers must be folded entirely before the bus will depart.  Remember not to store bags and other items in it that would prevent you from doing this as the driver will not be allowed to move until everything is in place.  I have seen many interesting moments with tired guests not willing to comply but this is a state law in Florida and does not have anything to do with a grumpy driver!

I would definitely plan on the Christmas party!  How can you not want to enjoy Main Street with the snow falling and the brilliantly lit castle in the background!?  The holiday parade is spectacular with the toy soldiers being my favorite part.  Most of the attractions are open and the lines are so much shorter during these events making them a great opportunity to experience some of the rides that you had to pass by during the busy times of the day.  Look for the hot cocoa and cookie stations too!  With this event ticket you can enter the park as early as 4:00pm even though the actual party does not start until 7:00pm.  Many make dining reservations in the park for these early hours so they have the whole time to play once the party begins!
