Hello Joelle, and thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great planning question.

I have experienced a split stay in the past and I am happy to share with you how to get your belongings from one resort to another. The night before you will be checking out of Disney’s BoardWalk you will want to contact Bell Services to arrange for them to pick up your bags before you leave for your first destination of the day. When the Cast Member arrives, you will advise them that you will need to have your bags sent to Disney’s Old Key West Resort for the remainder of your stay.

When you check-in to your resort, you can request that Bell Services at this resort bring your bags to your room. They can also assist you with getting to your room as well with a lift on a golf cart type vehicle. When it is time for Disney’s Magical Express to pick you up for your return trip home, you will again want to contact Bell Services the night before to schedule a pick up to bring you and your bags to the main building. If your airline participates in Resort Airline Check-In, you can check your luggage and receive your boarding pass from the Cast Members at Bell Services. If you cannot check your bags beforehand, you must bring them with you to the motorcoach and the driver can assist you with getting them loaded and unloaded on the bus. You will be responsible for checking them with your airline.

Important tip: if you will be on a Dining Plan for the second part of your trip, you will need to use the Online Resort Check-In to activate it or physically check-in at Disney’s Old Key West Resort to make sure everything goes smoothly.
