Hi Susan! Thank you for bringing another great question to us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I think you are going to love staying at
Disney's BoardWalk Inn. My family always makes time for a visit there during our trips. We really enjoy the evening entertainment, watching jugglers and magicians. One of our favorite things to do is take a
Surrey Bike for a spin around Crescent Lake, followed by some ice cream at
Ample Hills Creamery. With so many
delicious flavors, we have a hard time deciding which to choose. We'll order an ice cream flight to share so we can sample a bunch!
One of the best features of Disney's BoardWalk Inn is its location, within walking distance to both
Disney's Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway entrance to
Epcot. If you'd prefer to save some steps,
water taxi service is also available. This is a perfect location to enjoy the
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, as you are just steps away from all the deliciousness of the
Global Marketplaces.
Epcot's
monorail station is located at the main entrance to the park. Guests are not permitted to enter International Gateway and walk through the park to the monorail station prior to opening. There is not another path to walk there. Your best bet would be to use Disney's complimentary bus transportation from your resort to Magic Kingdom Park. Did you know, you can check bus arrival times on the
My Disney Experience mobile app? It is such a nice feature to know when the next bus to your destination is due to arrive. If you prefer to arrive in style, check out
Disney's Minnie Van service.
Susan, although it would be
possible for you to make your way to Magic Kingdom Park as you have described while Epcot is open, I still would not recommend it. It is about a 20 minute walk from Disney's BoardWalk Inn through Epcot to the main entrance. Your journey to Magic Kingdom Park would also involve a monorail transfer at the Transportation and Ticket Center.
Bus transportation is a much more efficient option.
I hope that helps! Please stop by the Moms Panel again with any additional questions you may have.
Have a wonderful vacation!
Anne Marie
